Obianuju’s July 2019 Favorites

You already know what time it is! I never stop trying beauty products, so it was difficult to narrow down my favorites for the month of July. After much deliberation, and in no particular order, here are the beauty finds that honestly changed my life in the month of July.

1. *W7 Starry Eyes Metallic Jelly Eyeshadow in ‘Blue Moon’ ($9.95)

I’m loving the rise of metallic jelly shadows, as they’re generally easier to apply than normal glitter and they sparkle more brilliantly than a regular shimmer pressed powder shadow. The shade Blue Moon is a lovely iridescent periwinkle shade, perfect as an inner corner highlight.

Honorable mention also goes to the shade Alchemy, a rich gold (depicted on the right in the swatch photo above).

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in ‘Freebase’ ($24)

If you’re a fan of colorful eye looks like I am, a white eye shadow base will work wonders in terms of making bright colors pop. Especially if you have a deeper skin tone, using a white base can help shadow appear true to color.

Pro tip: this summer is the summer of neon, and neons benefit most from having a white base underneath.

3. *Zoeva Coral Shine Brush Set ($95)

This beautiful face and eye brush set was inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year—Coral. I particularly love the 137 petit fan, 241 precision shader (perfect for applying shadow to the lower lash line), and 317 precision liner.

4. Colourpop Little White Lie BFF Mascara ($8)

White mascara is the perfect way to up the ante on any eye look. If you’re not willing to get too daring, try just coating your bottom lashes with white mascara. On my jet black lashes, I was afraid this mascara would be too translucent, but boy is it opaque. Just one coat is enough to cover my lashes.
