The Secret To Emma Watson’s Soft, Textured ‘Do

Stylist to the stars Adir Abergel created a soft, textured updo that felt romantic yet had strength to it for beauty Emma Watson’s “Beauty & The Beast” premiere red carpet moment. “The softness of the hair was meant to balance out the modernity of the outfit, and using my feather accessories complimented the edginess of the jumpsuit.”

Abergel began by creating volume. By applying the Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice all over Watson’s roots through midshaft of the hair, he created memory and volume whilst ensuring a soft texture. He then used a blow dryer to rough dry.

Next, he moved on to add shine and texture using a 3/4 inch curling iron to very loosely wave the ends of the hair, adding to the romantic quality.

Leonor Greyl Baume Bois De Rose was worked throughout the ends to create separation and to add shine.

Abergel then added a few loose and deconstructed braids all over while keeping height and volume at the top of the head, before gathering the hair into a low, very loose chignon, which was secured in place with pins. He finished by spraying the hair all over with Leonor Greyl’s Voluforme styling spray to secure the look for all-night hold.

The Adir x Lelet NY gold quill halo placed on the back of Watson’s head, as well as 7 gold quill bobbis on both sides.

Leonor Greyl products are available at Nordstrom.com.
