Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist created Emma Stone’s powerfully pretty makeup effect at the 2016 Met Gala last night. “Emma looks really powerful and sexy. We were dealing with hard and soft, masculine and feminine, but didn’t want anything too punky,” said Rachel. “We wanted her look to have a little sense of Blade Runner, with classic ’40s elements. She has an incredible tan and dark brown hair now, so this was a really fun opportunity to do something different.” Here’s how she got the look.
FACE: I wanted her skin to look really fresh and vibrant. I used CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 40 Beige, which is a warmer color than I would usually use on her. On her cheekbones, I sculpted with CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 in 50 Beige, then dabbed her cheeks with CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in N°21 and N°22.
EYES: Her eyes were definitely a focus. We did really strong brows and then a slightly gunmetal eye color, CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Midnight. All around the waterline, I used CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense. I finished the eye look with a few coats of CHANEL Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir. I wanted everything to look diffused, with no hard lines.
LIPS: We started with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Naturel to keep the color in place all night. The lip shade is CHANEL Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine in Script: a really soft pink with a tiny bit of beige.
