How-to: Cate Blanchett's Smoked-out Lids At The Oscars

cate-blanchett-oscars-2015-photoCate Blanchett looked divine in a subtly smokey lid offset by her turquoise statement necklace. Makeup artist Jeanine Lobell created a disco-inspired look to compliment the starlet’s updo last night. Here, the details on how to get the look.

FACE:

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #4

Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric in #306

Jeanine created a heavy contour to accentuate Cate’s features. She used Cheek Fabric to contour and flush her cheeks.

EYES:

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Quad in #6

Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in #9

Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Mascara

Eye & Brow Maestro in #6

To give Cate a strong, but not harsh, look to compliment the turquoise necklace, Jeanine opted to work with eye shades that would bring out her blue eyes. She applied the beige rose color of Quad #6 on her lids then blended the medium toned brown in her crease. To give a very round eye, Jeanine added the plum brown in the lash line below the eye and darkened the outer corner of the crease with it. She then added Eye Tint in the lash line slightly dotting it to give depth. She finished the eye with Black Ecstasy mascara and created full brows with Eye & Brow Maestro.

LIPS:

Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in #500

Jeanine created a mauve rose lip using Lip Maestro.

What do you think of this look on Cate Blanchett? Were you feeling that giant necklace as much as I was?
