Met Ball 2013 Makeup: Blake Lively

Blake Lively‘s makeup look was one of my favorites of the evening. I like that she opted for “punk” dresswise, as opposed to full-on Black Swan like someone whose name rhymes with Hanuary Jones for the 2013 Met Ball. The face of the Gucci Première women’s fragrance wore a Gucci Première pale green silk georgette strapless gown with silver and matte black feather motif embroideries. The skirt features layers of black organza that cascade into a dramatic train. She completed her look with a pair of black patent leather peep toe evening shoes and a black stingray clutch. Makeup artist Elaine Offers for NARS did the makeup honors.  “It starts with Blake’s signature approach: luminous beautiful skin,” said Elaine Offers about the look she created for Blake Lively. “We created a serious eye shape as a nod to the punk theme by building on a smoky eye and winging it outward. With the diaphanous layers of her skirt and a light lip, it comes together as being both glamorous and edgy.” Here are some of the products Offers used.
