How To Recreate Allison Williams’ Fly ’70s Eye

Celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis created Allison Williams’ look at the 2016 Critics Choice Awards last night. Said Melanie, “Allison is wearing a dress that definitely has a 70’s feel and with its aqua beading I wanted to pick those hues in the makeup. We were inspired by a young Jerry Hall or Bianca Jagger during the Studio 54 time. Her luminous, bronzy skin with a shimmery aqua, sexy, smoky eye with a dark salmon lip color made the look complete.”  Here, the beauty breakdown, per Melanie.

SKIN: To prep, I used CHANEL Le Lift Flash Eye Revitalizer patches followed with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Micro Serum. On her lips, I applied a thick luxurious coat of CHANEL Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care and leave it on until we were ready for lipstick.

FACE: Using a wet beauty blender I applied CHANEL Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth- Effect Makeup SPF 15 in 20 Beige. For a skin-kissed look I used CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base and for a touch of freshness I used CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in N°22 on the apples of her cheeks.

EYES: I used CHANEL Limited Edition Stylo Eyeshadow Fresh Effect Eyeshadow in Azulejo as a base to grab the shadow and create depth. I applied it all over the lid up to the crease and on bottom lash line. I used all the colors except the pink from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Beverly Hills. The bright blue on in the center of the lid, on top of the base for a pop of shimmer! Then I applied the deep violet on the outer corner and crease of her eyes to create smokiness. Finally, I used the light color on her brow bone and inner corner of her eyes for brightness. On her top and bottom lashes I brushed on Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir.

LIPS: I didn’t want to do a simple “nude” lip, so we went with a soft salmon color instead. To accomplish this nude lip with a punch of color I started with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Nectarine and finished with CHANEL Rouge allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Amoureux.
