Met Ball 2013 Makeup & Nails: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger looked pretty in a metallic lid and tempered pink lip last night at the Met Ball 2013. Fulvia Farolfi did the makeup honors, while Gina Viviano created the star’s nail look. Says Farolfi, “Punk being the theme of the Met Gala, Diane and I decided to go for a strong eye with iridescent navy blue accents. We thought it would complement her sleek, black lace CHANEL dress and her casual, punk updo. I would call this makeup look Red Carpet Punkas it was beautiful, yet powerful.” Here’s how to get the makeup and nail looks for Diane Kruger.

SKINCARE
Diane has beautiful skin, so I kept it simple and perfectly moisturized by applying CHANEL Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner, followed by CHANEL Sublimage Le Fluide
FOUNDATION
POWDER
I used very little powder, so that Diane’s skin remained fresh and glowing, but applied CHANEL Natural Finish Loose Powder in Clair as needed.
BLUSH
Just a touch of CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin was added to the cheeks.
EYES
On the top and bottom lids I used CHANEL Limited Edition Stylo Eyeshadow in Blue Bay, then applied CHANEL Limited Edition Stylo Eyeshadow in Black Stream to the outer corners, both top and bottom. To accentuate the blue and black eyeshadow shades, I added the deeper tones from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lagons and Mystère (Available July 2013). Lastly, I placed a touch of the lightest eyeshadow shade from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lagons in the inner corner of the eyes.
BROW
To define the brows, I used CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Cendre.
MASCARA
Lots of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir on the top and bottom lashes, for a full look!
LIPS
We decided on an easy and approachable lip to go with the strong eye. So, I finished the look with CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Colour Sheer Lipshine in Ingénue (available June 2013).
NAILS INSPIRATION
The inspiration for the look was punk. Diane requested a sheer sparkle base coat with a deep inky blue tip.

COLORS
I used CHANEL Protective Base Coat and added a sprinkle of silver glitter to each nail. I then applied CHANEL Nail Colour in Blue Satin to the tips and completed the manicure with CHANEL Extreme Shine Nail Lacquer. To coordinate the nail look with her dress I applied CHANEL Nail Colour in Blue Satin to her toes.

RED CARPET NAIL TRICK
To add to the edge factor nails were shaped extreme oval, almost pointy.

What’s your stance on Diane Kruger’s red carpet look for the Met Ball?
