Met Ball 2013 Hairstyle: Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow graced the red carpet in a classic ponytail inspired by her Valentino gown with its high neckline. Her look? “Modern Grace Kelly, a volumized, full ponytail,” courtesy of celebrity hairstylist, David Babaii of David Babaii Blow Dry Bar (Tracy Anderson Studio). Here’s how to get the look.

David started with wet hair and blew it dry using the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Hair Dryer. He then used hair spray to add texture and pulled it back into a classic high ponytail. With the T3 SinglePass flat iron, he flat ironed the ends to create an angle and fullness. “Gwyneth is the modern Grace Kelly, she is so elegant, we wanted to have a swept away look with more volume that complements her beauty,” David said.

Tips for Recreating the Look at Home:
Apply hairspray on a toothbrush and move in an upward motion around the hairline away from the face and “Let chaos rule the rest. The right tool makes all the difference; this look can be created from wet to dry in only twenty minutes.”
