MTV VMAs Recap: Top Three Beauty Trends

Me with a moon man!

Here’s what it’s like at the MTV Video Music Awards. You’re staring obliquely at the very best in pop you’re only accustomed to seeing dancing across your TV. Some things are slightly less magical–you see the teleprompter announcing that, say, Taylor Swift will be performing before she glides most gossamerly onstage in a striped shirt a la Brigitte Bardot. Or that One Direction will be accepting the award moments before it’s announced. This, of course, is thrilling. You can’t see detail as well. But you can, say, see that you’re in the same room with your ultimate crush Andy Samberg, whom you’re doing all you can not to tumble down 20 rows of people to F-berg in public BECAUSE IT WOULDN’T BE LADYLIKE. Things like that. Also? It’s an excellent place to take in the top three beauty trends of the night. Here they are.

Red Lips
Rihanna, Pink (on-stage) and Taylor Swift rocked the classic Old Hollywood look in Hollywood.

Bouffants
Pink and Miley rocked mile-high hair on the red carpet.

Neutral Lips
Pink (on the red carpet, Alicia Keys and Zoe Saldana popped a barely-there pink pout.

My favorite 2012 VMA moment? Pink’s performance, complete with disembodied bold lips all throughout the stage. What did you think of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards? What was your favorite moment? Tell me everything. Share Horowitz! And a special thank you to CoverGirl, for sponsoring me! I had such a phenomenal time.
