“We wanted Katie Lowes’ makeup to be bronzy, soft and modern and to let the vibrant red dress be the focus for her stunning look,” makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan said. Here’s how she got the look, in her words.
Face: I started by prepping the skin with La Mer followed by Murad Invisiblur. I then applied a thin veil of Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation all over the face and neck. Katie’s cheeks were first defined with mark. Glowdacious in Amped Up and then a bit of Chanel In Love blush to add a bit of a peachy color to the apples of the cheeks. For a radiant glow on the cheeks I used mark. Touch and Glow in Coral Glow.
Eyes: I started the eyes with mark. All Time Eye Hookup Eyeshadow in Tender Love all over the lid and crease. I then took the mark. All Time Eye Hookup Eyeshadow in Sun Ray and placed it on the lid close to the lash line and under the bottom lashes. To deepen the crease I used the darkest shade from the Chanel eyeshadow quad in Spices. I finished the eyes with 2 generous coats of mark. Lash Act Mascara in black to both the top and bottom lashes.
Lip: I wanted Katie to be sure her lips felt hydrated and not heavy for the long night. I used mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Bare All for a slight hint of color and lots of moisture!
