The Trick To Viola Davis’ Navy Eye Makeup Look

Celebrity makeup artist Autumn Moultrie created Viola Davis’ epically elegant cosmetics concept for the 2016 Golden Globes. “The inspiration for Viola’s look came from her dress. It was a beautiful dark navy design with embellishments, and it’s very feminine, very elegant. She looks regal. When I started working with the blue of her dress, I got incredibly inspired. Her makeup look is flirty and seductive,” said Autumn.

“I used CHANEL La Solution 10 de CHANEL Sensitive Skin Cream on her complexion before applying makeup.

EYES:
I covered Viola’s entire lower lid and eye rim with CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Fervent Blue, then went over the liner with the metallic gray eyeshadow from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Paris to tone down the color. After that, I tapped on CHANEL Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Illusoire; it looked outstanding.

On her browbone, I applied the shimmering tone from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Paris, and I added the bronze shade from the same palette in the eye crease. I lined the inner lashline with CHANEL Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Noir and then finished with a very thin line of CHANEL Écriture de Chanel Eyeliner Pen in Noir.

LIPS:
For Viola’s lips, I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine in Roman. It’s sheer but highly pigmented. The shade is a beautiful fuchsia pink with a blue undertone, and with her blue dress it was gorgeous.”
