They Call me Mellow Yellow

Yellow is SO important in my lifestyle. It’s my favorite color to wear, my hair must be a (non-brassy) shade of yellow-blonde or I lapse into a low-grade depression, and most importantly, if I’m leaving the house, it’s with my yellow concealer. Since discovering Physician’s Formula corrective yellow concealer in 7th grade, it’s become a staple in my makeup bag. I’ve since moved on to more luxurious, creamy formulas like MAC’s Studio Stick Concealer in NC30 (yellow), flirted briefly with Tony & Tina’s Herbal Eyebase in yellow, and most recently, found Benefit’s new product, You’re Bluffing. It came in the mail yesterday and I’m already enamored with it. Touted to conceal redness, it also conceals dark circles (which are more blue, really) totally, when combined with my precious Hylexin. If you order from Benefit’s site, they’ll throw in samples of Jiffy Tan (which you know I adore) and their new depuffing eye gel. The best part, per usual with a Benefit product is the packaging–it comes in a gorgeous yellow stick adorned with abstract art. If you order from Benefit directly, they’ll even wrap it in tissue paper sealed with a delightful sticker of a bombshell-esque doll. After applying eyecream, use a concealer brush to blend some yellow concealer, then apply the rest of your makeup before finishing with some standard concealer that matches your skintone (I am loving Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer in Medium these days).
