Steal ‘Star Wars’ Star Daisy Ridley’s Life-changing Retro Curls

Robert Vetica for Leonor Greyl created this stunning ‘do for Star Wars: The Force Awakens breakout star Daisy Ridley. “Daisy’s hair was very much inspired by The CHARLIE GIRL. I think there were actually a few of them, but the Charlie Girl I have in mind is Shelley Hack, the REAL Charlie Girl in my eyes. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, Charlie Girl embodied youthful, free-spirited and vibrant women on-the-go having fun with life and that’s exactly what we wanted this day to be for Daisy. She is someone for the younger generation to look up to!

There’s a lot of Hollywood glamour to the hair, maybe even a slight hint of disco which is interesting to me or to anyone that is a sincere fan of those decades and styles! Taking the freshness of the “Charlie Girl” from that time, with a hint of 70’s, I re-created and combined those looks, beginning with Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice – Volumizing Styling Mousse to give the hair some body before prepping it for the hot tools. After the mousse, I sprayed Leonor Greyl Condition Naturelle Heat Protective Styling Spray and then blew it dry aiming for a smooth look. Daisy held her head upside down for extra body, and then I went over strand by strand with a round boar bristle brush on low heat for extra volume.

I then used a three-quarter inch curling iron to achieve the Marilyn Monroe hair look. Through each section I used a barrel curling iron which allowed for a low side part. I then finished by spraying the sections with Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle. I then finished the whole look off by brushing, teasing and combing the set of curls into a strong enough structure to hold the locks, all the while using the Leonor Greyl Structure Naturelle hair Spray; that product is magic!”

I’m seeing the movie at 7p on Thursday, the earliest possible time civilians not on a red carpet list can get in. You?
