Celebrity makeup artist Molly Stern for tarte created Julianne Hough‘s beautiful makeup look for the 2012 Emmys. Inspiration? Says Molly, “I wanted her makeup to look as if she were a black and white photograph come to life.”  Here, the makeup situation, courtesy of Molly Stern.

Face
Molly prepped Julianne’s skin with tarte’s pure maracuja oil to give the skin a deep infusion of moisture and glow.

Cheeks
Molly applied tarte’s cheek stain in loving in the hollows of her cheek and then topped off the apples with tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in exposed.

Eyes
To keep her eyes simple and fresh, Molly softened her lids with Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in slate to give a subtle yet dazzling glow.

Lips
To finish the look, Molly filled her lips in with tarte’s LipSurgence matte lip tint in exposed and then pressed tarte’s glamazon pure performance 12-hour lipstick in pure over top. “I wanted to make sure the color had a matte finish to keep with the overall softness of the look.”
