You And I Both Know You Need To Know About Amber Heard’s Golden Globes Lip

One of my favorite looks of the night! Celebrity Makeup Artist Melanie Inglessis focused on creating a dewy skin with a dark red lip to complement Amber Heard’s Gucci dress at the 2016 Golden Globes.

“When I saw Amber’s dress, the first image that came through my mind was Grace Kelly. This gorgeous, dreamy Gucci dress has a classic silhouette in the front with an open back dripping with beautiful, bright colored flowers”, says Melanie. “The coral, pink and red hues blended together, make this dress stunning. I definitely wanted to honor those colors and create a makeup around those tones. A bright red lip is what I first envisioned when i saw the dress.”

FACE:

“Once the skin is cleansed, I love to apply SISLEY Black Rose Cream Mask all over the face and leave it for 15 minutes. It instantly energizes and brightens the skin and it feels so luxurious. I took it off with cotton bud and Tammy Fender Bulgarian rose Water. I gently massaged SISLEY Hydra Global onto the skin, it is a highly hydrating moisturizer that leaves the skin healthy and ready for makeup. I took any excess off with a tissue paper sprayed with the above rose water.

Before I start the makeup, I generously apply a layer of Luca’s Papaw Ointment on the lips and leave it there until I am ready to apply lipstick.”

SKIN:

“Amber has the most gorgeous skin and needs very little coverage. SISLEY Phyto-Teint Expert is the perfect foundation. It has a flawless and sheer finish that says on all day, which is needed for red carpet. I applied it with a wetBeauty Blender. Benefit Ohlala under the eyes mixed with Cle De Peau concealer in Ivory is a great combination to brighten the under eyes. I love a breathable looking skin but always powder the T zone, MAKE UP FOR EVER HD POWDER in translucent is totally invisible to the eyes.  I used SMITH COSMETICS brush #115 for this. Even on a fair skin, I always like to give the skin a healthy Glow. With SMITH COSMETIC brush #118, I dusted SISLEY Phyto Touch Illusion D’eté  all over the face gives this really natural Glow. To add freshness to the look, I added Kevyn Aucoin, The Creamy Glow in Pravella just on the apple of the cheeks.”

EYES:

“For this look, I wanted a clean, bright eye with a little definition. I also wanted to compliment the colors of the dress.

I started with SISLEY Phyto-Eye Twist #9 as a creamy eye base. I applied it directly to the eyelid with the pencil, then blended with my fingers. I covered the eyelid but barely over the crease. With SMITH COSMETICS brush #256, I went over this creamy base with SISLEY Phyto 4 Ombres in Dream (the bottom right color). This palette is actually perfect for the eyes I wanted to achieve.  I used the lighter color by the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes, the dusty rose color as a base, the brown gold color on the crease to create dimension using SMITH COSMETICS brush #256 and the darkest color on the outer corner of the eyes with SMITH COSMETICS brush #253. I ran SISLEY Phyto-Kohl Perfect in Brown under the eyes, and then smudged it with SMITH COSMETICS brush #253, so there is a little soft smudge under the eyes. Then I curled the lashes with Shu Uemura Eye lash Curler and applied 2 coats of SISLEY Mascara-So Intense in Deep Black.”

LIPS:

“A pop of color to match those gorgeous flowers on the dress is what I was going for. Amber loves a matte lip so I used SISLEY Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in L33 to define and fill her lip, which is a Scarlet matte lip and applied it with SMITH COSMETICS brush #304.”
