Housecleaning Products to Inspire: Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day

The other week, I shared some of Mrs. Meyer’s (creator of eco-friendly product line Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day) tips, now I need to discuss the products themselves. One of my budget-tightening techniques since I’m now living solo was to live without my bi-weekly cleaning lady appointments. Parenthetically, Susanna, I MISS YOU. However, in an attempt to enjoy doing a thorough cleaning myself, I made sure to stock up on some prettily packaged yet effective products from Mrs. Meyers. Her products come in several scents and each smells more divine than the last. And, with natural ingredients and bio-degradable properties, they’re wholly appropriate for Earth Month. Here’s are my faves that I’ve tried thus far:

Mrs. Meyer’s Basil All Purpose Cleaner ($8)
I dilute this with water and scrub the heck out of my floors and countertops. The basil scent is refreshing and light. For stains, you can use it straight, allowing it to soak in for a few minutes before scrubbing away.

Mrs. Meyer’s Geranium Liquid Hand Soap ($4)
Decently priced, this foamy soap smells like a dream and brightens up your kitchen sink area. It leaves hands soft and smooth, thanks to essential oils. In fact, it’s a favorite of Carol’s.

Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena Surface Wipes ($4)
I keep a packet of these in the bathroom and in the kitchen for quick counter-wiping. Each pack comes with 24 wipes. I think the only way the brand could improve on this is by offering larger quantities as I go through a few a day. Lemon Verbena is one of the brand’s best scents, in my humble O.

If you’re not into fragrances, be sure to try her unscented line of cleaning products as well. Next on my list is to try her Laundry Detergent, Dryer Sheets, and Shower Cleaner.

P.S. I saw a lot of Mrs. Meyer’s products sold at TJ Maxx this weekend priced at only $3. Get on that!
