First Look: Macy’s Glamorama Makeup Look Courtesy Of National Makeup Artist Alex Sanchez

Lancome National Makeup Artist Alex Sanchez is creating the look above for Macy’s Glamorama, an over-the-top fashion show and after-party with local charity beneficiaries. The event has become a four-city tour through Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. This year’s Chicago installment takes place tomorrow, with a theme of Fashion In A New Light, at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance at 8 p.m. Sheryl Crow will headline the annual event.  Lancome will also be doing makeup appointments on Thursday the 8th in-store in celebration of the event. If you’re a Chi-town gal, go and tell me about the look you do! In the meantime, I caught up with Sanchez about the inspiration for this makeup look and how to recreate it on your own. Check it.

“Parisian themes are omnipresent in the show: The music, models and makeup are inspired by the brilliance and decadence of Paris- the city of lights.” Why glitter? Says Sanchez, “In this life you should sparkle every chance you get!” As for fall hues to try, he says that indigo and violet are the go-to shades for eyes. To score the eye style above, Sanchez applied “multiple layers of black and grey gel liner on the eyelid as a base to prime, sculpt and set the glittery textures of the eye shadow.”
