2012 Oscars Beauty: Rose Byrne’s Hairstyle

Rose Byrne‘s bob hairstyle is KILLER and it looked positively GLEAMY at the 2012 Oscars. Her black, backless Vivienne Westwood gown was complimented by a sleek, stylish bob. Here, the details on how to recreate the look at home courtesy of her stylist, John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh.

The goal? Harry wanted to keep the hair simple, clean and chic. “We wanted it to be all about shine and a high-gloss finish,” says Josh.

Step 1 – Protect and Prep
According to Harry, it’s all about product. With a look like this you need the right base to achieve the high-gloss finish. On wet hair, Harry applied the NEW John Frieda Full Repair Style Revival. This heat activated spray not only protects hair from damage caused by heat tools, but also helps to ensure the final look is sleek and straight, without weighing hair down.

Step 2 – Seal in the Style
After blow drying hair with a round brush, Harry flat ironed Rose’s hair section by section in order to lock in shine and keep her strands sleek and straight. Harry stayed south of her roots to ensure she had a little volume and then gave her a side part.

Step 3 – Polish and Perfect
To ensure no hair was out of place, Harry touched up stray strands with the John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer. By simply swiping the mascara-like wand over her bangs and her crown, Harry gave her a red-carpet ready, perfectly shiny finish.
