The $3 Skin Care Item I’m Loving.

My mother is in her mid-60s and looks about 20 years younger. Her face has NOT ONE LINE. Her fabulous complexion is the result of staying out of the sun (ALWAYS–I’ve never seen her on a beach without SPF 50+ and a huge floppy mom hat), genes and 20 plus years of cleansing with a super inexpensive soap.

Her favorite is Kirk’s Original Coco Castile Soap. Made in the U.S.A. since 1839, it’s hypoallergenic, non-animal tested with no animal by-products or synthetic detergents, like laurel sulfate.  The slightly retro-looking wrapper states “Kirk’s makes handfuls of rich creamy lather even in the hardest water.  Yet, it rinses with thrilling ease and no drying residue.  Skin is left beautifully soft and healthy.”  My mom attests to that–she never even needs night cream as her skin is left hydrated. The thing is, eye area aside, there is just no need to use make up remover at all.  And, since it’s non-drying, I find I don’t need a night cream before going to bed.

To enumerate more of its virtues:  It comes in a three-pack for only a few dollars (!) and is available at your local supermarket or online for $1.29. CYE?!
