Official Mascara Correspondent: Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra-Waterproof Mascara

Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci takes Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra-Waterproof Mascara for a little test drive. How does she fare? Read on and find out.

First off, the brush on this one is a shape that I don’t see too often with “modern” mascaras. It’s smaller densely fuzzy brush doesn’t have any of the bells and whistles that many brushes these days have; no rubber, no bend, no odd shape. I like this right off the bat and it doesn’t disappoint with application of coat #1. The brush allows for great coverage; I’m able to work the product through each lash without much clumping. The lightweight formula allows for a bit of bend and curl with a little coaxing. Because the formula is super H2O-proof, when it dries, it aids in keeping that curl in tact.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go into coat two with much gusto because the formula was a little too brittle once dry. The wispy tips of my lashes got a squared off look which is never cute. Same with my midday touch-up.

But with this mascara, you’ll be happy with one coat because it is really and truly smudge-proof and budge-proof. It’s so long-lasting and waterproof that I needed a generous amount of oil-based eye makeup remover at the end of the night. A bit of a bummer, but a decent trade off for a great waterproof mascara.

 I’d buy this baby.
