Fictionary: As(h)cist Brow Party

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don’t exist, but should.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating. It is a NIGHT TERROR matching brow paraphernalia with my weird dishwater blondish brown brows. Straight-up blonde pencils are always too light. Brown is always too dark. Taupey ones are usually a bit too warm. My brows are a cool ash dirty blonde. With a grey undertone, even. It’s a decidedly cold shade. Not even a pretty shade. In reference to this difficulty, I’ve decided to declare myself a member of the as(h)ist brow party.

Carol is afflicted with the same issue, those hers are a bit darker. In fact, when I was home over the holidays, she confessed to sometimes using… A SAGE GREEN pencil on her brows. Because that matched better than anything she’s tried. Can you even? She has yet to find her perfect hue. But my two secret weapons curated from dozens and dozens of others eliminated are Three Custom Color Customized Brow Gel ($19.50) (I mailed them a lock of my hair so it’s the EXACT right color) and Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil in Ash Blonde ($22). The latter boasts the perfect greyed-off blonde so I can maintain my as(h)cist regime.

What is your brow pencil or powder of choice?

I disagree completely. My eyebrows are this same dishwater blonde shade and I have searched high and low for a brow pencil that doesn’t make them look too warm. I thought the Anastasia Ash Blonde pencil would do the trick, but in fact, it makes me brows look reddish.
