What’s On Julia Allison’s Vanity?

The What’s On Your Vanity Series showcases a single beauty item a blogger loves because it’s effective, but also she feels she must keep out on top of her vanity because the gorgeous packaging must be displayed.

I’ve long admired my girl Julia Allison‘s unabashedly feminine pink aesthetic. She owns her girliness wholeheartedly, which is refreshing in our current nightmare of a gender dynamic where I find that men in New York have declared themselves prizes to be won and are actually waiting for women to sweep them off their feet. I’ve always said I could write a far more entertaining dating blog than a beauty blog, but I simply can’t get on board with the INTERNET being involved with that aspect of my lifestyle. I think Julia’s incredibly brave for putting it out there the way she does. Her dating knowledge is vast, but her beauty expertise is impressive as well. For that reason, I decided to hit her up and find out what pink item is glamming up her vanity. To wit:

I couldn’t possibly hide my Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater lotion and soap, which I’ve used since I was a little girl (about eight years old) and which have quite possibly the prettiest packaging in the history of beauty products.  In all those years–and we’re talking two decades here, ladies–I’ve never grown sick of looking at them (or smelling them!).  It’s just classic and girly and I get a little sentimental just looking at them.  I would buy up 80 cartons if they ever threatened to discontinue them or change the packaging.
