Sienna Miller Channels Veronica Lake at the L.A. Premiere of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

We discussed the fab CHANEL makeup Sienna Miller rocked to the L.A. premiere of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, now it’s time to dish about her gorgeous undulating waves.

INSPIRATION Frederic Fekka’s Adir Abergel wanted to create a modern day Veronica Lake look that had wonderful movement and softness with lots of shine and bounce.

TO GET THE LOOK Adir started by creating a very strong side part. To form a perfect side part, follow the arch of the eyebrow to the back of the head.

Adir then applied FEKKAI ZERO-HUMIDITY FRIZZ CONTROL ($23) from the roots to ends; next he applied FEKKAI BOUFFANT ($23) only at the roots to add a little body. He then blow-dried the hair with a round brush to create the perfect texture.

Once the hair was completely dry, he took a 1 1/4 curling iron and curled her hair, and then pinned it in place. He did not curl the hair at the root, because he wanted the top of the hair to stay smooth, but wanted to give the rest of the hair body.

After curling, he then let the hair cool down for 10 min and took out the pins. He brushed out the curls with a FEKKAI CLASSIC BRUSH ($95) for the perfect smoothness, softness, and bounce.

To finish this look he applied FEKKAI NONCHALANT CREAM ($23) to top of her head, to smooth away all those tiny flyways. Finally he added a little bit of FEKKAI SHEER HOLD HAIRSPRAY ($23) to lock in the style.

Frederic Fekkai products are sold at Sephora.com, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, and other fine retailers.

Really?! I think it doesn’t dry on my lips. Then the balm kind of washes it away? Do you shake it or soemthing? Maybe I’m using something else? It goes on kind of like a marker rather than a brush… is that it?

    Hi Lindsey,

I like them, but I find they do dry out quickly. And you DEFINITELY need to use it in conjunction with a balm. I find I need to buy new ones more frequently than I do with, say, benetint or Urban Decay lip stains.

In another unrelated question I was wondering about lipstains (drugstore). I was so excited when Covergirl came out with lipstains in so many colors. Have you tried them? I’m interested to know your opinion. I was disappointed. I feel like the scent is strange, and it never quite dries so it doesn’t really stain so much as stay on top of my lips. Yet I was surprised to read on Elle newsblog that a makeup artist loves them and uses it for more than just lips. What am I missing?
