Fictionary: Revoltage

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don’t exist, but should.

I ruined too many vital pieces of my heat-tool arsenal abroad before I realized that simply using a converter wasn’t going to stop my appliance from shorting irrevocably. I call this phenomenon revoltage, a succinct word that embodies both the revolting connotation in reference to my feelings when I lose a valued instrument for my hair and the sense of revolution in the most bellicose-synonymous definition of the word.

The answer to my international hair prayers? Sedu Revolution Compact Styler, $20 at folica.com. Its ceramic tourmaline floating plates smooth strands quickly. Its tiny size is perfect for your tiniest carry-on. It heats up to 350 degrees and, most vitally, it boasts DUAL VOLTAGE, so no more revoltage. All this and it comes in its own natural habitat (a travel case). I implore you, in the deepest American Express commercial way, to NOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT.

Have you experienced heat-tool issues abroad? Tell me about and we’ll laugh and cry together in the comments.
