Molly R. Stern created Reese Witherspoon’s beautiful makeup look for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards“I wanted the focus to be on Reese’s eyes. By keeping her skin looking super fresh and natural, and the lips bright but sheer, I was able to keep the attention on her smoldering liner and bright eye color,” Molly said. Here, the beauty breakdown.

“To start, I invigorated and hydrated her skin with Natura Bisse C+C Vitamin Complex Mist andKiehl’s Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence. I then prepped her skin with Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate.  This creates the most flawless canvas. Next I added a bit of Chantecaille Rose de Mai Face Oil for extra hydration where needed

I wanted a sheer and fresh looking complexion so I applied Kiehl’s Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream mixing the Medium and Light shades which worked perfectly, allowing her naturally great skin to shine through. I then shaped her bone structure using Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Embrace.  I created a soft, subtle shadowed base for her blush and then added a pop of heat and brightness to the apples of her cheeks using Christopher Kane for NARS in Starscape just on the apples of her cheeks.

For her eyes, I began by basing her lids with Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadow in Taupe, and layered the stronger toned Matte Eyeshadow from NARS in Bengali at the lash line. Then, I smudged Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Star Black 1L to the upper and lower eye line.  This gave a bit of a gritty edge to her otherwise fresh look. I then curled her lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and coated her lashes twice with DiorShow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in Black for added intensity.

I finished by basing her lips using Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Color in Coral Reef, with ColourPop Hyper Glossy Lippie Stix in Juicy for some added sheen.”
