In the “Blue Crush,” protagonist and pro surfer Anne Marie Chadwick surreptitiously dabbed on NFL player Matt’s cologne she found in his bathroom, but to ensure she smells sweet, yet on-brand, she would surely fall hard for the latest limited edition launch from Escada, Turquoise Summer.
I cannot imagine a more apropos olfactory accoutrement for the Hawaiian surfer girl. It’s an estival festival of a perfume, blending a playful fruity sorbet of wild red fruits: strawberry combined with juicy raspberry and acidulous blackcurrant. At the heart is a fleshy peach note, complemented by fresh violet and orange flowers. The intense fruitiness is balanced by the sensual base notes with a relaxing blend of creamy vanilla and smooth sandalwood.
Even the bottle would elevate AM’s bedroom (and would possibly inspire her to invest in a full-length mirror, so she doesn’t fall down catching a glimpse of her luau dress in the bathroom). Fashion illustrator and designer Sarah Arnett was inspired by Escada’s heritage, the bright and fruity fragrance and the memories of summer escapism. Adorned with turquoise and Escada’s signature pink the bottle comes encased in a beautiful box adorned with this year’s Escada summer fragrance girl donning a gown of feminine florals and the butterfly motif.
Escada Turquoise Summer launches in Spring 2015 and will be available at Sephora, Sephora in JC Penny, Kohl’s, Ulta, Macys.com. Pricing is $46 for the 30ml, $60 for the 50ml, $77 for the 100ml and $20 for the rollerball.
