Makeup: Shailene Woodley At ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Premiere

Shailene+Woodley+Fault+Stars+New+York+Premiere+WKw5KdAJMlhlI started the book last night and am on-track to finish that ish before it hits theaters this weekend. I adore Shailene Woodley’s nice-girl attitude toward Hollywood, her commitment to natural beauty products and damn, if she doesn’t yield all the sloe-eyed sultriness of a Disney heroine, right? Last night at the NYC premiere of “The Fault In Our Stars,” Shailene looked epic in a canary yellow Ralph Lauren dress (my favorite color). Shailene’s go-to makeup artist, Roxy, created a fresh, simple makeup look to compliment her red-carpet moment using Physician’s Formula Organic Wear. “The simplicity of Shailene’s gorgeous yellow dress really inspired me to create a makeup look on her that fit the same vibe: fresh, simple and classic. Keeping Shailene’s skin dewy with a strong plum lip felt like the perfect accessory to her beautiful dress. What I love about her look is that through the simplicity of it all, it made a stunningly loud statement and those are always my favorite kind of looks to create. Less is truly always more,” said Roxy. Here’s how to get the look.

STEP 1: SKINCARE

“The first step to this look was spraying Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir Spray all over her face, neck and décolletage to revive, soothe and hydrate her skin.  Next I  applied 100%Pure Luminous Primer Vitamins & Reservatol to help me to get it all over her face evenly and fast. For her base, I applied Physicians Formula Organic Wear® CC Cream in Light/ Medium all over her face with my Chanel Foundation Brush #6. I started at the center of her face and blended out to her jaw line until it was seamless. This CC cream does a fantastic job at giving great coverage but keeping the complexion looking natural and fresh.

STEP 2: POWDER
To keep her look a bit more sophisticated, I applied Koh Gen Go’s Manfanshi pressed powder to give me the control I need in tight areas such as under eyes, around her nose and mouth.

STEP 3: BRONZER
To bring out her earthy glow while giving some subtle definition to her cheek bones, I brushed on some Physicians Formula Gentle Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer with my Makeup Forever Double Sculpting brush under her cheek bones and over her temples.

STEP 4: HIGHLIGHTER
Since glowing skin was a major part in her makeup look for the night, I applied Josie Maran’s Argan Illuminzier down the bridge of her nose, around the outer corners and above her brows in a C shape manner.

STEP 5: EYESHADOW PRIMER & EYELINER
Moving on to the eyes I started by applying tarte’s Clean-slate 360 creaseless 12-hour eyeshadow primer.  For this look it was important for me to bring out her big beautiful eyes but with very minimal makeup. I skipped eyeshadow and went straight for tarte’s Skinny Smolder Eyes eyeliner in Golden Tiger Eye. I drew a thin tight line across her top lash line as well as the bottom corners then smudged it out softly using the sponge tip.

STEP 6: MASCARA

Shailene loves to apply her own mascara and swiped on two coats of Physicians Formula Organic Wear® 100% Natural Origin CC Curl + Care Mascara. The mascara really brought everything on her eyes to life by curling, lengthening and defining her gorgeous lashes.

STEP 7: BROWS

On her eyebrows I always keep them true to their color and shape by only brushing them with my Jane Iredale Delux Spoolie brush. We like the inner corners of her brows to be feathery and especially for this look so using that brush helped me gain that effect.

STEP 8: LIPS

On her lips she applied tarte’s Glamazon 12-hour lipstick in playful to her lips with her finger. We didn’t want the lip color to look perfect in application but instead more lived-in and natural. It was the finishing touch to her sweet and stunning look.”

What do you think of Shailene Woodley’s makeup look last night? And are you going to see this YA flick on opening day OR WHAT?
