MET Ball 2014 Hairstyle & Makeup: Emma Stone

I mean. This is Emma Stone’s personal beauty best, as far as I’m concerned. Can we all take a beachy mermaid fishtail-creation course? Between Blake Lively’s ‘do tonight at Macy’s Gucci Parfums event and Emma Stone’s epic ‘do (and makeup) at the MET Ball 2014 last night. Chanel celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin and Mara Roszak for L’Oréal Paris created her hairstyle. Here, the beauty breakdown.

“Overall, we wanted to create a look that exuded modern and relaxed glamour. I focused on a light, sun-kissed look to let Emma’s beauty shine.” Goodwin used the following products for Emma’s red carpet look.

CHANEL Le Jour de Chanel, $85

CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup SPF 15 in Beige 30, $45

REVLON PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Peach Light, $12.99

CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Illusoire and New Moon, $36

REVLON ColorStay Eye Liner in Topaz, $7.99

RELON Bold Lacquer Mascara $7.99

CHANEL Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Naturel, $29
REVLON ColorBurst Balm Stain in Cherish, $8.99

Chanel Aqua Crayon Lip Color Stick in Rosewood, $29

REVLON Nail Enamel in Diamond Texture, $4.99

Emma’s custom Thakoon dress looked effortlessly cool, and Mara wanted her hair to match with a fresh and young hairstyle that was all about texture. Here’s how to get the look.

STEP 1: Apply L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray ($4.99) onto the roots of damp hair for dramatic lift.

STEP 2: Spray L’Oréal  Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray ($4.99)  liberally all over the mid-length and ends, and rough-dried hair away from the face to build texture and volume, while still maintaining structure.

STEP 3: Once hair is dry, gently tease the crown for more height and backcomb throughout to build a solid foundation.

STEP 4:  Start creating the wide, woven style from the left side, moving over to the right, making a side braid. Secure the end with a clear elastic, and allow pieces to fall out loosely around the face.

STEP 5:  Spray L’Oréal  Paris Elnett Hairspray Extra Strong Hold Volume ($14.99) all over to lock in the style.

What do we think of Emma Stone’s epic look at the MET Ball?
