What’s On Emily Katz’s Vanity?

The What’s On Your Vanity Series showcases a single beauty item the interviewee loves because it’s effective, but also she feels she must keep out on top of her vanity because the gorgeous packaging must be displayed.

You may remember my gal Emily Katz from my multiple interviews with her about the makeup on my FAVE show LOST. I talk to this sassy fellow Katz on a regular (she’s a doll!) and you’ll be glad to know that though her tenure on ABC’s hit series has come to end end due to the show’s impending series finale (May 23rd, rock your Dharma jumpsuit and bust out your Apollo bars), she’s got a lot of exciting things on tap. Emily’s on-vanity items include a bronze Buddha AND a super sophisticated scent. In Emily’s words:

A few things hold court on my vanity, predominantly a bronze figurine of Buddha. But the other icon that resides there is always a bottle of Hermes Caleche. I discovered the scent many years ago.

I not only love it, but the simple iridescent bottle with its gentle curves and clean lines speaks to me of classic beauty. It certainly fits in with whatever decor I seem to be into.

I recall walking into a shop in Montreal after working on my first movie, and discovering it. The clean scent has always captivated me, and seems to capture what I feel represents my essence. In other words, I just totally dig it! It’s not what I consider an overused fragrance, so it represents a way of standing apart without overwhelming. I have so many memories tied into it…from all over the world and so many facets of life.

I just seem to keep picking up a bottle when I’m in the duty free at the airport ! Which of course adds to the souvenir aspect of it as well. It’s always on my vanity.

Thanks, Emily! Stay tuned for more What’s On Your Vanity!
