Yves Rocher Has Died

Yves Rocher is a wonderfully affordable brand of botanically based products. My mother used to get the brand’s catalogs when I was little, and it swiftly became one of my “gateway brands.” I used to page through it and make lists of everything I “needed.”

Unfortunately, Mr. Yves Rocher died of a stroke on Saturday. Although the Yves Rocher brand was best known in France and Canada, it’s maintained an American following as well. The company maintains a botanical garden, the Jardin botanique Yves Rocher de La Gacilly, at its industrial site in La Gacilly. It is open to the public without charge.

Rocher’s grandson, Bris Rocher, will now take over the company as president.
