No Blow-Outs Till Brooklyn: Skedaddle to Self Salon

Dolls, I just got a divine blow-out at Self Salon in Williamsburg. The place is uber affordable: A cut will run you only $65-75, while a blow-out will cost you only $35! I’m loving the non-Manhattan prices. AND it’s the first stop in Brooklyn via the L train, so it took me a mere 20 minutes door to door from 23rd Street.

Maria Barca, the salon’s owner, could not be more of a peach. This native New Yorker opened Self Salon at the tender age of 24. Want to know what I was doing at 24? Drinking away the pain of my life-sucking job at an audit firm with my investment banking friends. I wish I were that together at that age! Anywho, Maria’s spacious, nonpretentious salon is the perfect oasis from the vim and vigour of Gotham. Glasses of Pellegrino await in the salon’s comfortable reception area, while little baby gold necklaces, the likes of which I’ve only seen on my favorite little baby gold necklace curator Marina, are available for sale.

The salon boasts major follicular talent. Cubicle-colonist-turned-hair-extraordinare Delores Turnbow gave me a wavy, fabulous blow-out with tons of body and fabulous shine, tapping into the salon’s ample supply of Davines products. Curly gals take note:
Jeffrey D. BoyEs, a Devachan certified stylist, specializes in curly hair textures. Stylist Chinatsu Ukai excels in wedding styling.

Check out Self’s revamped space yourself and services 20% on all services (except for bridal). As if the prices weren’t FABULOUS already. I urge you to cross the bridge and revamp your style on the cheap at this luxurious space in the hands of Maria’s talented staff.

Self Salon is located at 147 Grand Street, between Bedford and Berry, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Visit the website at www.selfsalonbrooklyn.com or call (718) 599-1449 to schedule an appointment. Self is also available on Facebook.

In examining Shakespeare’s life, three broad points replica watches should be kept in mind from the start. First, despite the frustration of Shakespeare biographers with the absence of a primary source of information fake rolex watch written during (or even shortly after) his death on 23 April 1616 (his fifty-second birthday), Shakespeare’s life is not obscure. In fact, we know more about Shakespeare’s life, its main events and contours, than we know rolex Oyster Perpetual about most famous Elizabethans outside of the royal court itself.
