This one was a treat, gals. I got to interview Bobbi Brown for the second time in two days. Is there anything better than going up to Bobbi Brown and going, “long time no see!” and really meaning it (or , I should say, meaning the opposite in a sarcastic way?) No, dolls. There isn’t. So Bobbi told me that the makeup inspirashe for fellow Philadelphian Tory Burch‘s new collection is the study of exteriors and gardens in the late 40s. The clothes have a natural texture/print and the makeup was chosen to reflect that. The look was a smoky eye, an illuminating bronzer and a pale mauve lip.
Bobbi (pictured, left) used the following products on eyes:
Galaxy Long Wear Cream Shadow
Storm Celestial Eye Shadow from Blush Pink Collection
Charcoal Eye Shadow on lid
Black Ink Long Wear Gel Eye Liner smudged
Charcoal Eye Shadow smudged under eye
Smoke Lash Glamour Mascara
Cheeks were tawny – to achieve this, Bobbi swept on some of her Illuminating Bronzer in Bali Brown. She also showed us a new shade coming out for pale girls who tend to look orange in regular bronzer in the winter (uh, that’s me… and Betty Draper lookalike Kristen Giordani from Total Beauty who was interviewing Bobbi with me. She must have realized how much two fair blonde, blue-eyed gals would benefit from this info!). The new shade is called Antigua and it’s a paler, pinky bronze. I can’t WAIT for it to come out. Lips were defined with Pale Mauve Creamy Lip Color from the Bobbi Brights Collection.
The hair was understated, but elegant. REDKEN lead stylist Yannick D’Is drew a center part and created a next-day look featuring lived-in waves.
He used Touch Control 05 and Fabricate 03 and separated hair into six sections, which he curled around a 1.25″ iron for soft waves. Urban Experiment Grit Wax was applied for chunky separation and texture.
