Not to scare you or anything? But I am an absolute freak about age prevention. Not to the point of plastic surgery (although I’ve received emails asking me if I’d LIKE some… and I’m embarrassed to say I totally considered it for a minute… is that not so L.A. of me?) but I am a firm believer of engaging in minimal wrinkle-preventing activity. For instance, the age to start wearing eye cream? Early 20s, dolls. I started at 19, but of course, you know I’m cra. I wouldn’t start later than 23. Crows’ feet are SO unsexy. I turn 28 in a few weeks and naturally, am totally aghast about it because, as you know, I am 17 on the inside. To ensure that I look closer to 17 on the outside, I’ve been using philosophy’s help me retinol treatment nightly and I am loving the results.

This nighttime treatment was originally created for the medical market for people who have been unable to use retin-A. Help me utilizes a patented microsponge delivery system that generates delivery of the retinol into the pore on a time release basis. It’s a must-have for deeply congested pores and can be used alone or prior to your moisturizer. This stuff is the highest concentration of retin-A you can buy over the counter, girls. It’s a weird bucket to be in beauty-wise- I am prone to clogged pores and I don’t have any wrinkles at the moment, but I’d damn sure like to keep it that way. So many products cater either to acne-prone skin to take care of the pore situation… but they leave me too dry to consider myself a good citizen of Anti-Agingville. This one provides a perfect marriage of clarification I need and fine-line prevention I WILL need. The tube is $45 and will last nearly a year – a little goes a long way.

    Hi,

I totally love your blog, thanks so much for all the product reviews and info you post here. I already tried a few products you recommended. The other day I stumbled upon this blog: http://chiactivate.wordpress.com anyways, the people there claim that this face massager thingie makes anti-aging products up to 70% more effective cos it allows them to penetrate deep into the skin. They also claim the ultrasound helps against acne. My question is: do you have any experience with this or a similar product? Does it work or would you recommend me to try it out? Please remove the link if it’s against your blog policy. i don’t want to advertise for them, but rather have an expert’s opinion about it. ty so much!!!

    Hi Mikey!

Let me be clear – I don’t think 19 year olds NEED eye cream. I’m just saying that I started using it when I was that age, but I am, admittedly, kind of intensely afraid of wrinkles. I think people should have definitely started using it by the time they’re at least 23/24. If you’re interested in an eye cream and you’re nineteen, I’d recommend Clinique All About Eyes:

It’s pretty lightweight but does a good job moisturizing and eliminating puffiness without being too greasy/age-defying for those with youthful skin.
